New flagship camping site
Sherwood Pines campsite, Forestry England's flagship site, is set within 20 acres of breathtaking woodland, offering a serene forest retreat.
After a successful tender bid process, we were appointed by Camping in the Forest to construct their new camp site within the woodlands at Sherwood Pines forest. The works included the infrastructure for the new site, buildings, camping pitches, drainage and network of utility services.
The camp site continuously receives 5 star reviews and we’re extremely proud to have delivered a fantastic project for the benefit and enjoyment of thousands of camping enthusiasts for many years to come.
The works
- Site clearance and bulk earthworks, including formation of a new earth bund.
- Timber frame buildings, including reception building, amenity block and workshop/store building.
- Hardstandings for caravan pitches.
- Motorhome service areas.
- Timber deck ready tent bases.
- Glamping pod bases.
- Access roads, footpaths and parking areas.
- Installation of cellular confinement system to the access roads, car parks and pitches within the woodland areas to eliminate the requirement for excavation works around the existing tree roots.
- Playground area.
- Timber post and rail fencing.
- Access barrier system.
- Surface water and foul drainage systems including underground tanks, pumping station and rising main, catchpits, manholes, soakaway systems and connection to existing drainage.
- Utilities services, including water, electricity and gas supplies throughout the site.
- New modular substation enclosure.
- Service bollards to the pitches.
- LPG tank compound.
- Mechanical and electrical services installation works.
- External lighting.
- Landscaping works, including turfing, seeding and planting.
